Tanzania Program Files 1962-1972.

This series contains minutes of the Executive Council of the ELCT and of the Central Synod of the ELCT, previously called the Lutheran Church of Central Tanganyika. There are also subject files, financial records, and correspondence. The budget files of Box 2 dated 1962 through 1964 are related to the determination of mission budget for those years by the Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church, prior to the merger to form the LCA in 1963. Three subseries of records are part of this series: the ELCT and the TAC and Subject Files kept by Pedersen. The ELCT records (boxes 3-6) include committee reports and minutes, correspondence with the ELCT Executive Secretaries, and files for each synod and diocese, including a large section (boxes 5 and 6) for the Central Synod. The TAC records (boxes 7-12) include minutes, draft documents, correspondence, financial records, and scholarship and other project records. Pedersen's subject files include personnel matters, correspondence, and institutional information for a variety of programs. There is much overlapping of information in these three subseries.
